Contraindications

(These are the medical conditions for which electronic stimulation should be avoided). The StimPad™ TENS system should not be used in patients with: Cardiac Pacemakers or other implanted electronic devices; Clinical diagnosis of Cancer; Pregnancy - The safety of electrical stimulation during pregnancy has not been established; Transcutaeous Electric Nerve stimulators should not be used on patients with cardiac demand pacemakers.

(These are the anatomical locations where Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulator should not be used).

The StimPad™ TENS should never be used over the areas of the face, head, and front of neck for the following reasons: The Carotid Artery Sinus's which are located toward the front of the neck on either side of mid line, could induce a disturbance in heart rhythm or a collapse in blood pressure if stimulated. Severe spasm of the laryngeal and pharyngeal muscles causing closure of the airway and difficulty breathing could occur with stimulation of the front of the neck or mouth. Stimulation over the face or head could potentially cause cerebral dysfunction. Adequate precautions should be taken whenever electrical stimulation is used on a patient with diagnosed or suspected epilepsy. The StimPad™ TENS system should never be used internally or in the genital region.

ADVERSE EFFECTS:

  • Skin irritation and/or electrode burns are potential adverse reactions with the use of T.E.N.S.
  • Read User's Manual for additional information.

KEEP STIMPAD™ TENS AWAY FROM CHILDREN / FOR BEST EFFECTS, PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE STIMPAD™ TENS PHYSICIAN / PRACTITIONER USER'S MANUAL PRIOR TO USE.
